As we continue to grow our academic units and improve the educational experience for our students, we have been conducting multiple searches to identify the best candidates for open positions. You are invited to meet the finalists for the Vice Provost for Research and Innovation (VPRI) who will be visiting our campus to communicate their visions and plans for this leadership position. These visits provide opportunities to learn more about them as they share their expertise with our distinguished campus community.

Dr. Messaoud Bahoura is the Director of the Center for Materials Research and a Professor of Engineering at Norfolk State University. Dr. Bahoura has over two decades of research and leadership experience directing high-level multidisciplinary and multiorganizational research. Dr. Bahoura has procured over 30 million dollars in research grants, authored over 270 publications, and led cross-cutting collaborative research efforts with tier 1 universities, national labs, and industry. Dr. Bahoura is a Hampton Roads SCORE-certified volunteer and assisted startup companies as a consultant for the NSU Innovation Center with work that has been featured on several media outlets, including Wavy TV 10, Fox 43, and the Virginian Pilot.
