NSU CyberPsychology Event & Speaker Series Presents
Yom Hashoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day) is in its 80th year of commemoration. 1945 was not so long ago. At minimum, 11 million people were killed during the Holocaust—6 million Jews and another 5 million who were Slavic civilians, Soviet prisoners, LGBTQ, people with physical disabilities, and especially relevant for our talk, political dissidents.
Social Media & Political Polarization: Old Lessons for New Media
Join us as we discuss living in a digitally connected world and the people in the US who have become so polarized, partially due to the influence of social media. What lessons can we learn from how propaganda during past atrocities was communicated to the masses, which ultimately influenced normal, everyday people to behave in morally reprehensible ways. All students and faculty are welcome to attend and participate.
