Grace Period for Open Campus Parking Runs Jan. 21‒Jan. 24, 2025
Decal Enforcement Begins Monday, Jan. 27, 2025!
Students, faculty and staff, the Office of Parking Services welcomes you back to campus for the start of a new year and exciting academic year! Parking Services would like to remind the campus of the following parking regulations and decal enforcement information.
Open Campus Grace Period
· Jan. 21‒Jan. 24 is a grace period in which Parking Services provides students, faculty and staff the chance to purchase their NSU decals before strict decal enforcement begins.
· Decals will be strictly enforced starting Monday, Jan. 27, 2025.
· Decals may be purchased at the University Ticket Center. Hours for the Ticket Center are Monday–Friday, 9:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m.
· Any student, faculty or staff who has not purchased a decal by close of business Friday, Jan. 24, will not be permitted to drive on campus to purchase a decal. These individuals must park off campus and walk onto campus to purchase their decals.
During the open campus parking grace period, Parking Services is enforcing all other parking violations.
They include, but are not limited, to the following:
- Parking in No Parking Zones
- Parking in Handicapped-Accessible Spaces without proper credentials (Towing Enforced)
- Parking in Reserved Lots/Spaces without proper decal (Towing Enforced)
- Parking in Faculty/Staff Lots without a proper decal
Commuter Student Decals
- Students with Commuter Student Decals are allowed parking in any lot marked “Open” or “Commuter” only.
- Vehicles with commuter decals parked in any lot/area other than Open or Commuter parking will be subject to ticketing for wrong lot violations.
Resident Student Decals
- Students who reside in Babbette Smith (Twin Towers), Samuel Scott, Rosa Alexander, Midrise, Charles Smith and Lee Smith Residential Halls are required to purchase “Resident” student decals.

Vehicles with Resident Student decals are only permitted to park in Lot 7 (large lot behind Lee Smith), Lot 23 (adjacent to Lot 24, near the Towers), Lot 24 (directly across from Rosa Alexander), and Lot 27 (on-street parking from Gate 2 to the front of the library).
- Vehicles with Resident Student decals parked in any lot/area other than 7, 23, 24 or 27 will be subject to citations.
- These lots are strictly designated for Resident Student decal holders. All other decals (Faculty/Staff, Commuter, Spartan Suites) parked in these lots will be subject to citations.
Spartan Suites Decals
- Students who reside in Spartan Suites and the New Residential Complex (North and South) are required to purchase Spartan Suites decals.

Spartan Suites decal holders are permitted to park in Lot 13 (Spartan Suites lot), Lot 14 (directly behind the University Police Building—not Lot 14A), and Lot 16 (Scott/Dozier Dining Hall parking lot) only.
- ***No parking in Lot 14A***
- Spartan Suites decal holders are not permitted to park in any lot other than 13, 14, or 16 and will be subject to citations.
Faculty/Staff Decals

Faculty/Staff decal holders are permitted to park in lots marked “Open” or “Faculty/Staff Parking” only.
- Faculty/Staff decal holders parked in any lot other than Open or Faculty/Staff will be subject to citations.
